India is the second largest producer of cement in the world. In 2022, India produced 370 million metric tons of cement, which is about 7% of the world's total cement production. China is the world's largest cement producer, producing over half of the world's cement. India's cement industry has an annual installed capacity of around 509 million tonnes. In 2022, India's domestic cement production was 356 million tons, up from 296 million tons in 2021. The largest cement producer in India is Madhya Pradesh, with 23 cement plants. Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan follow with 19 and 15 plants, respectively.
